27th Annual May Day Trauma Conference

The 27th Annual May Day Trauma Conference continues the tradition of creating an annual forum utilizing nationally recognized experts in trauma care and emergency medical service systems. Designed to meet the needs of all health care professionals involved in the trauma care continuum, this year’s presentations examine diverse subjects from evidence based practice and innovative advances in the care of injured patients.

The UNC Trauma Program is a collaborative enterprise that incorporates the expertise of many different disciplines in order to provide the most comprehensive care possible for adult and pediatric trauma patients. Units involved in the care of trauma patients include Carolina Air Care, the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, Surgical Units, Pediatric Specialty Units, Rehabilitation units, and the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center.  In coordination with the Department of Surgery and the Trauma Medical Director, the Trauma Program establishes and maintains all protocols and guidelines involved in our trauma process.

The National Conference on Wilderness and Travel Medicine

The National Conference on Wilderness and Travel Medicine is targeted towards health care professionals who might encounter patients in remote settings or who might treat patients that develop medical problems after visiting remote areas.

43rd Annual Emergency Medicine Today Conference

Emergency Medicine Today (EM Today) is one of the most widely recognized EMS educational conferences in the country, offering its attendees the opportunity to hear presentations from outstanding faculty from across North Carolina and the United States. The conference offers continuing education credit for topics of general interest and current advancements in the fields of pre-hospital emergency care, emergency and trauma medicine and public health. The conference audience includes basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) personnel, emergency medical dispatchers (EMD), EMS professionals, EMS administrators, EMS educators, emergency medicine/trauma physicians/nurses, public health professionals, emergency managers, State Medical Assistance Team (SMAT) personnel, disaster planning coordinators, medical facility administrators, law enforcement officials, search and rescue responders, preparedness officials and others who play an important role in critical incidents.
